FRESH DAYBREAK

The central time when dusk meets dawn and sun touches the lawn,
The time is always ripe to forget the mistakes and the pain of yesterday,
My heart still beats, locked in your chest,
Yet, your words begin to mean nothing to me.
I love you too that's why I'm letting you go,
I'm a hell of a good woman it's too bad it took you this long to know.
What we had is in the past, there’s a reason we didn't last,
But whenever you get discouraged about why we're through,
Just look in the mirror because it's all on you.
You're not there anymore my dearest friend,
I hate to say this but this is our end.

So beautiful the daybreak seems even in my hearts legacy,
I know it is sheer ecstasy, the enchanting time when pure dew covers the glen.
The day's blank slate lies before me, ready for my writing.
May it be words of beauty I write,
May it be deeds of grace I do,
May it be thoughts of joy I think.
I finally let go, I finally found my release,
Tears subside, clouds go away and life goes on.
So now it begins, no false pretense,
Another story for the books, let it commence!
