FROM A WOMAN TO ANOTHER

It’s been a while since I wrote a piece of my own thinking. Today I remember my fellow female species; our mothers, aunts, sisters, girlfriends, grandmothers and friends. I’ve come to appreciate my fellow woman, the woman who has raised me to the person I’ve become, the women who have corrected, advised, helped, had my back and also those who have been there for me over the years. I believe women should be their own best friends not their own worst enemies.

We should embrace each other, support one another, and stand up for each other, you know... GIRL POWER. We should not prefer a male boss over female one just because there’s a stereotype that women are jealous and insecure. In whichever position we are, if we look after each other, love each other and uplift each other, then life becomes much easier. Yes, a woman might be wishing the worst for you, dislike you or even be jealous of you but so can a man. It’s not because she is a just a woman, it’s because she has that particular personality/behavior.

   Women should complement each other.

Women should not compare themselves with each other; we are all different.

Women shouldn’t judge each other on their choice of dressing, unless on those extreme cases, where you can respectfully correct or advise them.

Women should support each other even if they don’t support their situation. Whether you don’t like her choice of boyfriend/husband/lifestyle, be there to support her when she needs it.

It’s time to make a change, for everyone’s sake we should be standing together. We already have enough judgment from the male species and enough insecurities from them. We will rise from lifting each other; we will rise from empowering each other.

It starts with you, it starts with me.
